SHETLAND LAMB
Shetland sheep are a traditional breed grazed naturally on the heather and grass covered hillsides of the islands. Renowned worldwide for its flavour and tenderness Shetland Lamb has now been proved to be a healthy food. A recent study found higher than average levels of the unsaturated fatty acid Conjugated Linoleic Acid in the meat of Shetland Lamb. This natural chemical is believed to be linked to a reduced risk of cancer and coronary heart disease.
